Angels? Or men in white coats?

The latest post from Wanderingscribe is, for me, a revelation. The author is obviously taking note of the articles and comments on this and other sites and realises that "the jig is up". Why else would they reuse "laneways" a number of times (a quirk mentioned numerous times in comments as not being a normal phrase) and waffle about angels etc? Quite what any book publisher would make of the mental state of someone indulging in such erratic behaviour is beyond comprehension. But it matters not. Because, and I find myself repeating this with frightening regularity, surely even her most ardent fans must be thinking to themselves "she's lost the plot !" The posts are now almost becoming an over the top parody of themselves. Is she destined to disappear inside her own 6th form angst riddled poetry? Or will the curtain be pulled back to reveal the truth?

Did you see my spoof post from the "japanese" family..... she's taken it off now.... and I note the post about the pregnant woman nameing her child Anya Scribe Jones..... another one of my deceits... the idiot has posted some right nonsense now.... some old bollocks about fuck all... droning on about the original NY Times article or some old tosh....... Looking back i've had more or less a dozen spoof postings on there.... look out for a classic this weekend......

It's getting harder and harder to distinguish between genuine fawning posts and spoof ones.
I think the line was merged and obfuscated a long time ago.

The more prescient issue is when you get taken to the penitentiary.

Your words tell discerning readers more than you'll ever know. :)

Why do you feel that you have todefend some numpty you don't even know, apart from her "Hallmark Cards" peurile prose?

It's a strange world full of strange people.

They are a friendless, worthless underclass of society, that needs to latch on to any imaginary life and latch onto the person living it.
They fawn and slobber over their idol, and offer complete and utter worshipfulness, with the unspoken promise never to question anything.
They are the type, who at School sucked up to and idolised every teacher, and who in the playground, stayed unfailingly next to, and held hands with the playground monitor. There was always one particular boy or girl of the same sex as them, that they worshiped and fantasised about.
They have no feelings of self worth or pride, and transfer their needs for attention to an anonymous poster in a chat room, or the author of a blog, who they shower with praise and love, and who they refer to as their true friend, or more frighteningly, as a family member.
The only mirror for someone showing this kind of behaviour in the real world, is known as a stalker, and possibly, eventually a murderer.

As you quite rightly said, strange people.

just discovered your blog and after seeing the one that you refer to, yours makes much more sense.

the wenderingscribe one just has to be a comedy site or something like that because its too far over the top to be real.

good reading so keep it up

Yeah, I'm totally calling bullshit on "her," now.

I am not defending anybody... what I am doing is expressing a point of view! I have a right to do that! Like I said stop the bitching, which includes, but is nit limited to invading other people's blogs with your nastiness! You awoke a bees hive when you messed with my space!

I think he overates his own importance, and I bet he is stamping his foot in frustration when he is ignored.

wanderingScribe said...

When who is ignored?

Anybody with a modicum of common sense is welcome to post here.
It's what makes this a superior blog in every way to wanderingscribes.
No censorship here lads.
Say what you like without fear of your posts being moderated,

It's what makes Britain Great !!

Well waddaya know! Just when you thought you found something interesting, the balloon pops and out come the foul stench of lie and distrust. Sheesh.

Of course, now that I'm on this track, I'm going to have to question other blogs as well, including this one. What's true and what's not in the blogosphere? Heck, the original WS and this one could be one and the same if we push this to the extreme. Maybe I should start a new blog and name it The Truth about The Truth about WanderingScribe.

Wonderful example of how religions got made... What's true and what's not? What a bunch of fools we are, don't we think?

Whatever.

Personally I don't give a shit if she is fake or not. It's an interesting story and it's well written. Why the obsession?

I can't imagine how very little you must have read to have formed that opinion!

wanderingScribe said...

What's true and what's not ...?
All I've done is report on the "facts" that wanderingscribe has posted.
If those facts aren't true then there's only one source responsible for that and it's the same source that continues to lie on a daily basis to their "fans".

Consider me the Peeping Tom character from the classic tale and if you aren't familiar with the story (you could put money on the fact that most of WS's fans are not very well read ) then you should look it up.

I don't make the news, I report it.

HAHAHA! I don't think I've been this amused on the web in days, months, years? Can't remember. Anyway--thanks for the link. I refuse to "pick sides here," but I like the points you raise and am glad for the link on my page. What a wonderful companion read! I consider myself a wandering voyuer, so I shall keep reading (and *gasp* commenting?!?) on anything and everything that entertains me or causes my soft little communist heart to tremble (husband's republican/libertarian
--have no fear I'm well balanced, haha). Keep up the writing and the questioning. Nothing's better!

Thanks for your input eva.
All I am attempting to do with my own humble blog is highlight the ionconsistencies and soemtimes downright lies that wanderingscribe posts.
If we cannot question that which is presented to us as fact by people with motives which are not immediately apparent, then we are reduced to living in a state similar to communist Russia or China where everyone is told what to think.

Everyone should have a voice, which is why I allow anonymous unmoderated comments (which wanderingscribe absolutely will not).
Of course, we get the kiddies popping along to spout garbage but that's part of the fun.

Is it entertainment?
Yes of course.
If it was a chore then you just wouldn't log on.

Is it informative?
Yes.
Con men (and women) have existed throughout history and the "outing" of their methods and modus operandi helps to keep people aware of scams etc. so they can be more wary.
All I am doing is highlighting facts that someone merely speed reading her blog may miss.

Tellingly, as her posts become more detached from real world life and wander into flights of fantasy, some of her previous "fans" are realising that all is not as it appears to be "down the laneway" and are expressing their doubts.
Those expressed doubts never get past the moderators beady eye though and without blogs such as this one, anybody reading up about wanderingscribe would believe (as she would like the whole world to believe) that everyone loves her and everyone supports her.

Luckily, some of us are reading between the lines and not just the sugary utopian version of events that she portrays.

Thanks a lot for your very long and kind message. My answer is on my blog :)

Heh heh heh. Thanks for the link... I've been highly entertained.

I must say that I despair of anyone who considers WS's blog to be 'well written'. Gah! It's just sooo bad. Amateurish prose, a complete lack of proper sentence structure... terrible. Not that I have any problem with that, on its own. Plenty of bloggers enjoy blogging even if they're not particularly good writers. But the fact that she's trying to pass herself off as a good writer, with a book deal on the cards... bah. Give me a break.

Did anyone notice that she's nominated herself for a New Media Award now? There's a big fuck-off link to her self nomination on her blog.

Anyway, the main thing that arouses my suspicion as to "Wandering Scribe" and her motives etc is how on the one hand she goes to so much trouble explaining how she does not want anyone to know she is homeless, how she hides all visible signs of homelessness, how she won't ask anyone she knows for help and so on - even to the extent of paranoia - and then the eagerness with which she seeks to promote herself and her writing - leaving links to her blog all over the net, contacting those who might help promote her, spending a lot of time editing comments, and the "book deal". To me, this seems out of joint somehow.

Honestly, it's simply the email that did it for me. I've been homeless. Unless you are intentionally homeless (spiritual, personal, or other reasons), you don't fucking pay for an email-- I don't care if it is only a goddamn dollar-a-month piece of shit email. You don't fucking pay for that shit when you're homeless and can get a yahoo, hotmail, or other account.

Interesting comment on her blog:

----------------------------
The sad thing is there are all these fools out there pretending to be you. I've had a 1/2 dozen comments on my blog supposedly come from you. I've had the experience of sleeping in a car, you were able to write it. Especially the desire to stretch out in the grass, barefoot, the fear...

I keep asking the doubters how one might fake that if one has never experienced it. Keep expecting this blog to disappear on account of them. As always wish you well. If I haven't said it, thank you.
-----------------------------

Not sure if that's genuine or not. I want to say it isn't, and that it's a skeptic trying to put some doubt in people's minds "in code" so-to-speak. Even if it's genuine, I can only see allowing that post as a mistake by WS-- and a score for the good guys (us skeptics).

wanderingScribe said...

It's probably a genuine comment from one of her followers (or even WS herself as so many people hide behind anonymous names)
Not sure why we are branded as fools though.
Perhaps it's merely because we have an opposing view.
No point in asking them to explain though because, as we are very aware, WS does not explain herself.
I think she thinks she's above that sort of thing.

In order to maintain a btinternet email address, she'd have to have an account with BT.
Which means having an address where the bills can be sent each month.
And a bank account (which was obvious so she could cash her paypal donations) which would get regular monthly statements sent to an actual address.
Now she hinted that she is using an old address to claim benefits (although probably not the old address which you can look up on the B4Usearch website - anya peters, Brighton).
So either she is using someones address as a mail drop (in which case they are involved in the benefit fraud) or she has an actual address.
Which means she's not really homeless.

As you can see, you don't have to dig far below the surface for her "heartwarming story" to fall apart very quickly.

wanderingScribe said...

I must pop down to the laneway if that's what's on offer. :)
Sadly I think the laneway is just a figment of a sixth form angst riddled wannabe authors imagination.

Time will tell though.

squarecircle said...

The cunt didn't post my comment! It was so heartfelt and "sincere" too.

Something along the lines of not letting all the "doubters and skeptics" "get" to her, no matter "how many" there are. Maybe that part about insinuating there are a lot (of doubters) tipped her off. Oh well.

wanderingScribe said...

It would appear that the checklist for posts to get past the moderated stage on wanderingscribes site is getting greater by the day:

1. Must contain praise.
2. Must not contain any seeds of doubt whatever.
3. Must contain thanks for Ws even deigning to be on the same planet as us mere mortals.
4. Must not question the "Queen of the Laneways" on any matter at all (this is an absolute).

Methinks her ego has expanded far beyond her meagre limitations to come up with Mills & Boon stylee prose.
:)

Just some reasoned argument and the ability to compose yourself like an adult.
