Book? What book?

Can Anya ever make a single post without lying? I pose the question as today’s post by her claims that she hasn't even started writing it yet even though it's being advertised on Amazon. Hold on a mo though ....... So what exactly sparked a bidding war for the rights to her book if nothing existed? Are we to believe that those hard headed literary agents were so bowled over by the quality of writing on the wanderingscribe blog that they were fighting each other to sign her up without any scrap of evidence that she could do anything else apart from write about trees and fairies and blagging free car parking? Let's have a reality check here for a moment. We are led to believe that this poor frightened soul who shuns other people and has just recovered from a mental breakdown can suddenly land a big shot literary agent who then whips the publishing world into a bidding war frenzy for an unknown author who has absolutely nothing to demonstrate their writing skill apart from a blog? Someones 'avin a larf here. The more we see, the more we believe. That it's one big con.

What's also interesting is how the book as advertised on the Amazon website makes no mention of the 'wanderingscribe' name and doesn't have 'homeless wreck living in a car' as its main theme, instead focusing on the (immensely tedious) formula of abused-childhood-terrible-trauma that's so popular now.

Seems terribly unlikely to me that a literary agent would contact a homeless person based on their blog (which, let's face it, is mostly rambling self-help drivel and was never interesting for the quality of its writing) and find out that they had a terrible abused childhood and 'never belonged', then based on this asked this unknown person to write a memoir about it.

Clever marketing for the British Dave Peltzer I think. We can all look forward (haha) to book 2 in the series: "Found: The Little Girl Grows Up and Gets a Family" or some such sentimental crap.

Come now. this is a trifle unfair. Her blog's a good read. I'll definitely be buying the book. Anya deserves our heartfelt support after what she's been through. Thank you for highlighting her cause.
Best wishes.

Her blogs a good read?

Hey Lucy, are you familiar with the work of Janet and John?
I'm pleased you found my blog informative though.
Spread the word.

How do you know she lied? I like to trust people until i'm proven wrong. My trust in Wanderingscribe is well placed.

After the initial shock, I sat there eating Creamcrakers just staring at the listing on the screen, snapping one after the other of the dry crackers and chewing mindlessly

Lucy - you trust random people on the internet.

OK - I am a 50 year old gentleman who has just had to retire early due to ill health. I have sole care of my 2 year old grandson, because his mother did not return from a trekking holiday in Nepal. Every day I try to make money from selling hand crafted sculptures of various birds, made from paper clips. The money I make goes to feed myself and little Timmy and to pay for advertisements in Nepalese hostels, searching for my lost daughter. My only comfort are the trees in my garden, which whisper reassuring secrets to me as I sculpt the birds.

I deserve your trust after everything I've been through.

Go on - you read it on the internet so it must be true.

Lisa is certainly an unusual name for a gentleman.

I blame Johnny Cash for this transgender naming fad.

Hi, I feel I can trust whomever I wish. Having not parted with any funds I do not see my good faith as being misplaced. And should I have chosen Like others to make a donation to help Wanderingscribe get back on her feet, that would be my choice.

Best wishes,

Lucy x

But if she was already on her feet, then your donation is being accepted on false pretences. Get it?

There's a literary term to describe Anya's prose. It's called "crap writing".

There's no need to insult my intelligence. The fact is that I have faith in the contents of the blog and believe she was in need of understanding and support. The cynics amongst us don't have the monopoly on holding an opinion!

Best wishes,

"believe she was in need of understanding???"
If by "understanding" you mean "book deal" then yes, I suppose you're right.

Lucy,
If you are here to sing anya's praises then you are on the wrong blog.

Normally you'd be able to do so on her blog but she can't be arsed with the opinions of anyone at all as, when comments were enabled, some folks kept asking "awkward" questions that she'd much rather folks didn't ask.

Or highlight to others.

This is yet another manifestation of the manipulation that she has displayed in her relentless quest to get a book deal.

Having now secured one, do you think she'd want people to continue to ask questions or raise doubts about the sincerity of her claim?

Of course not.
And so the comments on her site were switched off completely.
They'd served their purpose after all and convinced some feeble minded ninny that anya actually had talent and a story that people would want to hear.

We'll see ........................

I was simply here commenting on what i've read and then responding. I;m not here to sing the praises of anyone, simply to offer an opinion and engage in a lively debate should it develop.

Give us a little debate and tell us why you think she's genuine then! Other than your "faith," that is.

Hmmm. Anyone else thinking 'plant' here?

wanderingScribe said...

Tsk Tsk.
Shame on you for thinking that Anya would stoop so low as to post anonymously on other peoples blogs whilst shutting down the comments on her own.

She's probably too busy listening to the trees going whooshy whooshy as they wave to her in her jutting out kitchen.

No, i think it's the same troll who's been hanging around trying badly to defend Wandering Scribe for weeks.

The poor thing.

Must be terribly frustrating, not being able to profess their undying devotion in public.

Reading your comments it's clear I am in the wrong place. Sad you have to berate and mock me for holding an alternative view, but such is life!

I don't think he's mocking you for holding an alternative view, I think he's mocking you because you are clearly deluded, and something of an idiot. You should go back to window licking.

wanderingScribe said...

Lucy,
If you read the thread correctly (or get your carer to read it aloud for you) you'll see that I agreed with you and another kind reader invited you to start a lively debate about why Wanderingscribe is so "fab".

Puzzlingly you have read this as being berated and mocked.
Not quite sure how your logic system works there but at least it explains why you are a fan of Wanderingscribes writing.

I wish I had a jutting out kitchen that was guarded by a big oak tree that made whooshing noises when it talked to the angels.

And a free BTinternet email address and free parking in London hospitals.

And I missed it hugely, physically. I haven't been back yet, and this morning listening to that rain tap down, I thought I might, just pack a lunch and drive back over there, but in the end it didn't seem right. Not yet.

Anonymous said...

she didn't go back because the fairies probably only reveal the entrance to the laneway once ever seven years or something.
What an absolute turnip that woman is.
I like the bit in her blog where she she moans about a priest because when she tells him about her problems, he tells her to go to the authorities.
Now, i'm no fan of the church, but else could he do exactly?

Hello,
I felt I was being mocked because some of the comments implied I was masquerading was Wanderingscribe masquerading as 'Lucy.' Your further comments highlight what a truely immature publication this blog is. I wishh you well but shan't be reading or posting any further.

I love how pro-Wandering Scribe people come on here and says she's telling the truth but go off in the huff when they're asked to back that up.
Not a good advert for the wondrous Wandering Scribe really.

wanderingScribe said...

Bye Bye Lucy,
Thanks for dropping by.

She was a touch sensitive when asked to back up her "claims", wasn't she, dear readers.

I'm back. You are all sad-sack, mysoginistic bastards. So there.

Why is it misogynistic to ask you to offer up the reasons why you believe Wandering Scribe is telling the truth?
Honestly, if you can't spell the word, don't use it.

Having fun debating with yourself scruffy? Maybe you suffer from split-personality disorder.

By the way, I thought this was a no bs zone and you weren't going to delete any posts? Oh, that's right. You're just not deleting the posts of your multiple personalities.

Hmm...
Methinks someone can press the keys on their "Tomy - My First PC" but have a little trouble reading the words on the screen.

It's about par for the course for anya-fans though.

In that case, it's safe to tell you I have thumbed you up on stumbleupon today and thumbed the phoney down - oddly enough she had thumbs up and your blog hadn't even reached stumble until I put it there. I was really surpised about that.

I can't wait to see if she does any promo stuff with the media after the book is out! I can just imagine some bloke that has lived with her in past, spotting her on the richard and judy show or gmtv and then suddenly spilling all sorts of stuff - A bit like dodgy politicians or anybody in the limelight, the media have a wonderful knack of building you up and then breaking you down, as we've all seen numerous times before.

Life has a horrible way of coming back and biting you right on the arse - and it's going to happen to her for sure.

She could always redeem herself and give a very large amount of her earnings back into the 'real homeless' causes out there - she's just lucky that 'real homeless' people don't have access to a pc or I'm sure they'd (if they could be arsed of course coz I'm sure a lot are 'genuinely' depressed)rip her to pieces!

P.S I'm not stalking you but I have been stuck on your site for the best part of the day but you have had me in fits of laughter - I just love a cynic and especially one that writes well....... LOL
